Description

My name is Daphné Cordore.
I want to fly since I am able to run.
They call us to fight in defence of our country.
And I don't understand the reason of this war
which might be the war of my last fly.

And, I don't - want - to cry.
I don't - want - to cry.
I don't - want - to cry...

I like these "sequels" very much. The image is nicer when it's part of a story.

I'm not going to comment on the artwork as much as the concept behind the series. This is the first time I've seen pictures from this series and so I went through all the links in the description and so the story from start to finish.

Apparently, the girl is trying to find freedom following the plane much like following a dream (and this I understood from the dream-like style of your art ... in a good sense obviously... good blend between the destruction and the dream). It started on the well, then went on to the dead-end which would have stopped her, BUT, she managed (and I'm curious to how she actually did get through that door over the broken bridge :p) and went on, following her 'dream'.

Now, as I see this present drawing I feel pity for the girl. She followed her dream for years (12 years right?) and this is where it lead her. The plane brought none of what she desired and in this image we see the plane as a weapon of destruction and not as a way to dreams. I see her crying not because of what awaits her but because of the 'betrayal' of her dream.

Finally, I like the addition of the boy. He seems to have the same feelings as our girl. Is he just a comrade in war, a friend, or more?

Maybe we'll see a happy ending to this series... I see ways you can do that but I will post none because it might influence you hehe you know, even the tinyest of comments can influence the artist's mind... so i'll keep my 'ending' ideas for myself. Hope to see more of this... GREAT ARTWORK!! GREAT EMOTION!!!

Very nice work :) My only crit is that the girl's face looks a tad flat compared to the boy's face. I guess that it's because the light source seems slightly different. The left part of her face should be darker IMO. Great expression, a very nice painting as always :)

beautiful series.. i believe that following ones' dreams cannot lead to destruction...it's what u want most and when it happens, nothing else matters...not even death...i really liked the previous posts, too... telling a story makes it catchy good job ;)

The concept behind this, the story, is very strong. The picture reflects all this, and I think Manti gave us a very good explenation of it. You painted a lot of feeling into this one.
But technically, as you say, there are a few things that could have been better. Daphné's face looks too flat, and I feel that there is too much gray in her hair.
However, the sky above with the planes is excellently painted.
I too hope for a happy ending.

I haven't seen the other images in the collection, but i really like this one; I almost immediately thought up what could be going on in this scene and the events that proceeded it. The perspective of this image in particular is also very nice.
